Professional Bio

Marie joined the HelmsBriscoe West Coast team in February, 2011. Bringing 37 years of hotel management in operations, sales and marketing and 5 years as a planner for a large CA state association (booking 150 meetings a year), Marie is excited to blend her experience for the benefit of her clients: Understanding the planner’s needs and being able to translate those needs clearly, concisely and completely to the hotel venue, enabling a more efficient and effective response back to the client!

Marie’s career started in Hawaii hotels in 1969, attaining her first management position 4 years later. In 1983 she relocated home to Sacramento, where she continued her hotel career at the Woodlake Inn/Radisson Hotel Sacramento until 2002. A needed break from hotels took her to Ca State Employees Assn, where she booked the majority of association and affiliate meetings for 5 years. Active participation in MPI, CalSAE and SGMP, as well as a variety of local chamber organizations, keeps her in touch with both planner and supplier colleagues!
