Carol Lynn Huttel (formerly Benavidez)

Carol Lynn Huttel, CMP, CMM, joined HelmsBriscoe in 1999. She graduated in 1990 from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management and a minor in Business. She also earned the Convention Industry Council’s Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation in 2000 and the Meeting Professionals International (MPI) Certificate in Meeting Management (CMM) in 2012. In recognition of her significant contributions to the meetings and events industry, she was honored as a 2026 CMP Fellow. With this extensive background, she is able to provide her clients with confidence that they are receiving the highest level of service and expertise in site selection and meeting planning.

Prior to joining HelmsBriscoe, Carol held management positions in multiple hotel departments, including restaurants, bars, room service, catering, and group sales. Her hospitality experience includes roles with the Hilton DFW Lakes Executive Conference Center, Radisson Plaza Hotel Fort Worth, Omni Dallas Hotel at Park West, and Omni Mandalay Hotel at Las Colinas. She is highly involved with the Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter of Meeting Professionals International (MPI), and her honors include the Spirit of MPI Award and Rising Star of the Year. She also served in numerous leadership roles, including Director of Finance, VP of Finance, Director of Leadership/Development, President-Elect, President, and Past President. Since 2013, she has continued to give back to the industry by leading a CMP study program, helping numerous hospitality professionals prepare for and achieve their CMP designation.
