Katsuko Shimizu (Kate) joined HelmsBriscoe as Manager, Global Accounts in 2025 and is based in Tokyo, Japan. She has 40 years of extensive experience in the tourism industry and has been engaged in both domestic and international travel promotions. Prior to joining HelmsBriscoe, she was Director of Aviations Operations Center/Overseas Travel Department of Kinki Nippon Tourist Co, based in their headquarters in Tokyo. She was also Assistant Manager with the Japan National Tourism Organisation (JNTO) MICE Promotion Department specializing in incentive travel and developing promotional strategies and content for Japan as a MICE destination.

Since 2024, Kate has been serving as Advisor for sustainable MICE projects at the Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau, as well as Inbound MICE Advisor for Central Japan under the Japan Tourism Agency. Service-driven and relentlessly results-oriented, she elevates experiences and empowers client success, experiential strategy, and event innovation.
