Kathleen VandeLaare joined HelmsBriscoe as Manager, Global Accounts in 2026. Based in Funchal, Madeira, Portugal, Kathleen was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, and has also lived in Fort Lauderdale and New York City. Her extensive sea and land travel experience throughout Europe gives her an advantage in helping clients find optimum hotels for their meetings and event specifications.

Kathleen’s most recent role was with the esteemed Grosse Pointe Yacht Club, where she planned all member travel and special events. She is very passionate about creating detailed and hospitality-focused site selection experiences for every meeting, conference, and event, no matter the size. Kathleen takes pride in saving valuable time for her HB clients by streamlining the process of finding the right hotel match and negotiating the details, budget, concessions, and add-ons each and every time.
